Oppo, I’m in love. It sounds amazing. It’s so comfortable. It drives like a dream. The seats are incredible, there is so much light in the cabin, every square inch is covered in leather (extended leather pack), the standard (!) 770w Meridian sound system is *fantastic* (There are no upgrades to that- the standard system is the best available. That’s my kind of standard feature.) The exhaust sound...well, you know all about that. I’m breaking it in- keeping the RPMs relatively low for a while so no exhaust vids as of yet. The shifter is great- it’s not Corvette chunky or Porsche precise- it’s just nice. Throws are medium length and the gates are properly notchy. It’s very BMW-ish, I’d say. Furthermore, the active switchable exhaust is standard on all manual F-Types. And on top of everything- it’s achingly, painfully beautiful. Expect lots of posts and pictures. I'll be around so AMA about my first impressions or anything else!

That is a stunner. A family that I’m friends with has an orange coupe, and they are breathtakingly beautiful. That being said, I think I like the color on yours a bit more.

As far as I know, manual is exclusive to the V6 only, but everyone still says that's the one to go with even without the V8.

I have never experienced such a level of jealousy as well as being happy for someone. That car is probably the most beautiful thing on sale right now. Coupe looks better than vert IMO.

I cross shopped an ATS-V and an M4, because both can be had with a manual. Both are nice, but driving this car was the most emotional for me- and I think it’s stupidly pretty. The M4 is just too dry (and also huge) and the ATS-V is an incredible drive but otherwise unappealing.

Oh man, that is gorgeous! My second favorite color behind Firesand Orange Metallic! Really makes me miss working for the Jag dealership. That was my all time favorite car on the lot, which was saying something considering we also sold Mercedes, Porsche, and Maserati. God, that exhaust just gives me feelings I should not feel about a car...

How’s the ride height seem?

That’s been one of my concerns with getting a car like this or a Corvette for a daily...if speed bumps and parking lots all make me nervous, it might be a pain. My Mustang seems reasonable, the F-Type doesn’t look far off.

Well I was having a hard time finding an S the way I wanted, but also, I kind of want less horsepower. My AMG is 550+ and a half second of throttle puts you in felony territory. With this car, I wanted to run it through the gears and let it sing!

Neither this or my fathers C7 have any concerns as far as ride height. They both have flexible little plastic splitters that extend beneath the front spoiler and brush against stuff, it's no big deal.

Fair point. Felony territory is VERY easy to hit in that car. Even on the on/off ramps for the interstate.

Completed unrelated, there is a neat little G-meter that you can pull up on the center console screen that we definitely most certainly did not use to see who could pull the most Gs on a nearby on/off ramp with a V6S coupe demo unit...

I could swear I read somewhere that the non-S version didn’t had the supercharger. Just tunes than, since the also 340 hp version on the XE-S has a supercharged too. Sorry

First, very nice acquisition.

Second, while I know you’ve just gotten it and will be breaking it in for the next while, I’d be interested in your thoughts on the comfort level of the seats and driving position on extended times in the seat (like 4-6 hours +). I got to do a few laps in one around VIR several weeks ago and found the seating position to be VERY upright...which was fine for the track...but, maybe not so fine for longer, more subtle trips.

They are absolutely exhilarating cars to drive, and to listen to. Very solid choice.

Well, it’s been about two years, but there was a sport or performance menu you could pull up on the screen in the center of the dash where you could change all the individual suspension and transmission settings. The g-meter was a sub-menu of that. This was on a V6S coupe though. It might not be on a base V6.
